About

My Work Story

I first started working in the homebrew space when I was 20 years old.  My father owned and operated a homebrew supply store business and I worked for him for many years.  At first, I was an extra hand to help get supplies, move equipment, etc.  Eventually I went on to providing direct support and advice for our customers.  From the basics (equipment and raw materials), to the critical (cleanliness), to the fun part (making beer receipts), I have many valuable years of direct experience with the homebrew game.

I worked at my father’s job for 12+ years before moving on to work at several liquor stores in the area helping customers, stocking shelves, pulling inventory, and assisting with daily ordering.  However, I continued to consult with my father, offering up any advice on brewing equipment and ingredients that I can.  When my father decided to retire for health reasons, I became the new owner of my dad’s homebrew supply store.  I went on to own the shop for 17 years before selling the business in 2020 as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the years, I have enriched my methods and brewed on all types of extract and all grain equipment and supplies.  I have won several medals in homebrew competitions and has had the occasion to brew some of my favorite recipes at commercial breweries.  So, I started this website in 2021 to provide my knowledge and expertise to help brewers go from complete novice to expert brewer.

My Team

I have assembled a team of homebrew gurus who will assist with crafting valuable content for this website that will explain how to make your own fermented products in the comfort of your own home.  Duane, Jason, Sharron, Tyler and Kevin bring a true love of homebrewing.

If you can boil a can of soup, prepare scrambled eggs, or bake cakes from a mix, then you can brew your own beer.  Just follow the instructions and understand that the ingredients, time, and temperature all impact the outcome.

We are always learning something in the process.  This is, after all, a hobby not a job!
