I love drinking Starbucks tea because of its unique taste. Starbucks Corporation is the producer of all Starbucks tea. They are referred to as the world’s largest coffeehouse chain. They have coffee stores in different parts of the world. All Starbucks locations serve hot and cold drinks, instant coffee referred to as VIA, whole-bean coffee, La Boulange pastries, microground, espresso, caffe latte, full- and loose-leaf teas, including Teavana tea products, Evolution Fresh juices, Frappuccino beverages, and snacks. I visit the Starbucks coffee shop in my area often because they offer me free Wi-Fi. So, on days if I don’t feel like working from home, I go there to chill, drink my favorite tea while I work.
Does Starbucks sell Boba tea? No, they don’t.
Instead, they have other alternatives to Boba tea that you would enjoy.
Starbucks raspberry milk tea or the Starbucks Teavana are some alternatives to Boba tea you can enjoy at Starbucks.
One thing I love about Starbucks is that I am given the liberty to make my milk tea from scratch to suit the taste I want. They don’t have the boba pearls that are found in boba tea, but they have coffee jelly that is similar to boba pearls.
Is bubble tea and boba tea the same?
Bubble tea and boba are the same. Bubble tea is also called:
- boba tea
- pearl milk tea
- bubble milk tea
- pinyin
- zhēn zhū nǎi chá
- pào pào chá
Bubble tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. One distinct feature of bubble tea is that it comes with chewy tapioca balls (“boba” or “pearls”), but you can request for other toppings. Bubble tea was given that name because of bubbles in the milk and tea blend after it is extracted from the shaking machine.
There are many bubble tea flavors and varieties, but their two well-known varieties are black pearl milk tea and green pearl milk tea with tapioca balls found at the bottom.
One exciting thing about most Bubble shops is that they usually offer their customers (both old and new) the freedom to select the quantity of ice or sugar they want in their drink. And then, they often distinguish their sugar level in the form of percentages, for instance, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. In contrast, their ice level is distinguished ordinally, for example, no ice, less ice, or regular ice.
Bubble tea consists of black tea, milk, ice, and chewy tapioca pearls, that are mixed thoroughly and served with a fat straw that helps to carry the marbles of tapioca that form at the bottom of the cup.
The tapioca pearls that accompany bubble or boba tea are made from tapioca starch. It is an extract of the South American cassava plant brought into Taiwan from Brazil through Southeast Asia during the period of Japanese rule between 1895 and 1945.
When tapioca pearls are brewed, they first start white, hard, and also tasteless. They are usually boiled inside large, bubbling vats and are steeped in sugary caramelized syrup for an extended period until they are gradually changed into black, springy tapioca pearls.
Gong Cha’s Bubble Tea Store sells Bubble tea. If you want to enjoy Bubble tea, you can visit any of their stores in your area to get some for yourself. It is very delicious, and kids or adults can enjoy it. If you don’t want to drink your Bubble tea immediately after you purchase it, you can store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
Starbucks list of tea you can enjoy
Since Starbucks does not sell Bubble tea, you can enjoy the different kinds of tea they sell. If you love to customize your tea like me, then you will love to drink Starbucks tea.
Almost all of Starbucks hot teas are brewed with Teavana tea sachets, and each of them has fantastic loose tea. I love Starbucks earl grey tea. Matcha green tea, chai, green tea, black tea, and herbal tea are some of Starbucks hot tea.
At Starbucks, you can enjoy any tea you love. Also, Starbucks has many tasty hot tea lattes, which you can choose from and enjoy.
Starbucks hot tea is unique amongst other hot teas because they use filtered water to brew all their hot tea which results in a clear cup of tea and also every Teavana tea bag contains loose tea that expands when it is brewed thus, giving it a rich flavor.
